Scope of the Conference

ECROFI (European Current Research on Fluid Inclusions) is a biennial meeting dedicated to fluid and melt inclusion studies focusing on inclusions’ wide applications: surface to mantle depth, extraterrestrial and synthetic materials.

Fluid and melt inclusions are precious tools to reconstruct the Earth evolution in intra-continental, convergent and extensional geodynamic settings. They help for better understanding of Earth geological history and fluid-phase equilibria.

All studies are welcome here that contribute to the understanding of natural and synthetic fluid systems by theoretical approach (e.g., thermodynamic calculations, molecular dynamic calculation) and/or experimental work. In addition, any kind of research in non-conventional environments (new frontiers): ice, industrial minerals, space, planets, microfluidic environments, bubbling, … will be appreciated.

Contributions may cover any kind of single or immiscible melt (e.g. silicate, carbonate, salt, sulfide, or phosphate) or related fluid inclusions in any aspect of magma or fluid formation and evolution in magmatic, magmatic-hydrothermal, and volcanic environments from mantle to surface, including potential applications (ore deposits, geothermal energy, geohazards…).

Fluid and melt inclusion studies from low to high-grade metamorphic rocks, crustal/mantle xenoliths, abyssal peridotites, ophiolites, or any other type of rock, focusing on fluids coexisting at greater lithospheric depths, are also concerned. Contributions may cover any aspect of fluid/rock interaction (metamorphism and metasomatism), including potential applications in ore genesis.

Studies of fluid inclusions, including hydrocarbon inclusions, entrapped in sedimentary basins or during diagenesis or geothermal processes and also fluid inclusions in speleothem are invited to this conference. Results are welcome not only from academic but from industrial fields as well, focusing on the application besides basic research (ore deposits, geothermal energy, oil&gas, energy storages, climate change…).

To read carefully

The abstract template is similar for oral and poster presentations. Oral or poster choice must be indicated when you submit your abstract.

Those interested in submitting abstracts should include up to 3 keywords appearing in bold at the top of the text. The keywords will help organising the different sessions.

The conference will be organised in thematic sessions with 30-minute keynotes and 15-minute oral communications.

One presenting author can submit only one abstract.

Abstract submission is close until May 16th
